Is it common to get an audio delay using HDMI? - best dvd dts upconverting player
This weekend, I was connected to a "upcoverting" DVD on my HDTV with an HDMI cable. Since the audio is terrible even on my HDTV, I have a coaxial cable to my DTS receiver directly from the DVD player.
I noticed that the audio and visual in my DVDs were completely in sync. I assumed it was because the HDMI is a direct digital connection to your TV, while the coaxial cable must be run through my receiver and my speakers. Does that sound right?
I realized my current DVD player has an option to turn against that which is struggling to provide a period of milliseconds, while the Upconverting DVD player works. It is this characteristic that my current drive delay, or is increasingly common in other players?
What worries me is that I someday updgrade HD-DVD or Blu-Ray one day I will and it does not seem to them that HDMI standard. Is there any current HD players offer this feature too late that nobody knows?
